Hussein Sharifi was the corps of number 5's commander of the Hezbi Wahdat, which was located in Qala-e Zini, between Mazar city and Balkh district. On August 8, 1998, he defended the city of Mazar against the Taliban and al-Qaeda. According to a family member, Sharifi and his soldiers were most likely killed while fighting terrorists. The bodies of him and most of his soldiers who were killed in that war were never found. He and all his staff and soldiers do not have graves.
