Taliban forces carried out a large-scale and sustained offensive from September 1998 to December 1998 in several villages in Bamiyan province, killing more than 100 people, the vast majority of whom were elderly men. There are also cases in which the Taliban invited old men to talk about the issues in mosques and then shot them.
